Meet Sherry Kent
Founder & Owner of Shaw Real Estate, LLC
With decades of experience in Southeastern North Carolina real estate, Sherry Kent founded Shaw Real Estate, LLC in 2010 with a clear vision: property management should be built on relationships, exceptional customer service, and personal accountability.
Before establishing Shaw Real Estate, Sherry worked with two local property management companies, gaining extensive experience managing portfolios of up to 700 long-term and vacation rental properties. Through that experience, she recognized an important need in the industry—a more personal, hands-on approach that values owners and tenants alike.
Sherry believes successful property management is about much more than collecting rent and maintaining properties. It’s about being accessible, listening to concerns, communicating openly, and treating every client and tenant with respect. That philosophy continues to shape the way Shaw Real Estate does business today.
Inspired by the tremendous growth and opportunity throughout Southeastern North Carolina, Sherry built Shaw Real Estate to provide knowledgeable, dependable, locally focused property management. Since 2010, she has continued to grow the company with a commitment to becoming a trusted cornerstone of the region’s rental community.
Shaw Real Estate proudly serves Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Hampstead, Rocky Point, Leland, Surf City, Topsail Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and the surrounding communities. With deep local knowledge and a personal approach, Sherry and her team work to make the rental experience smoother, more professional, and more rewarding for everyone involved.
For Sherry, community matters just as much as business. She strongly believes in supporting local organizations, building lasting relationships, and delivering the level of service and experience her clients deserve.
When she isn’t working, Sherry enjoys spending time with her husband, Clay as well as her boys Gauge, Sig, and Chester the cat and making memories with friends. She’s also a passionate advocate for animal adoption and encourages everyone considering a pet to visit local animal shelters and rescues to find their next furry family member.
At Shaw Real Estate, the philosophy is simple: real estate is our business, but people are our priority.
